Marketing and Communications Officer

Part Time Role (12 Hours Per Week)

Salary: Above National Minimum Wage


The role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting The Weeder Groups external communications, PR and marketing plan with a strong focus on digital communications including the website, social media and content marketing. Whilst the focus is on external communications, support for internal communications will also be required on an ad-hoc basis. You will be responsible for liaising with photographers, models and MUA’s to plan and create advertising campaigns as and when required. Although a part time role – there is scope for overtime and for this to result in a full time position for the right candidate should it suit both parties.

Key Accountabilities 

Manage updates on our websites – including adding news items or content for new items, creating events, or seeking out new opportunities to develop the company.
Work with our Social Media Manager maximise the delivery of the social media strategy to include Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram etc. 
Draft news stories and articles 

Create engaging social media posts using graphics, film and photography 
Use analytics to report on results of digital campaigns 
Undertake media monitoring, maintain press cutting folders and archive of all media coverage 

Plan, Implement and manage marketing campaigns
Other ad hoc duties as required

Skills/ Knowledge/ Expertise 


Excellent IT skills including Photoshop systems 
Proven ability to effectively write and edit copy for different audiences 
Excellent attention to detail 
Proven ability in using videos and infographics including technical ability 
Excellent proof reading, copywriting and editing skills 
Strong interpersonal, planning, time management, administrative and organisational skills 


Experience of working in a small team 

Knowledge of Men’s underwear, particularly within the LGBT brand

Understanding of data protection 

Personal Attributes 

Good level of education, demonstrating strong client facing aptitude and communication skills both written and verbal. Comfort and confidence in working with a variety of external stakeholders, having an entrepreneurial and enterprising approach to their work. 
Good working knowledge and practical application of Microsoft office tools and customer relationships software 
A “doer”- ability to anticipate requirements and act to provide workable solutions
Creative and solutions orientated, perceiving processes as the means rather than the end and as an aid to effective delivery 
Team Player: working collaboratively and flexibly to achieve outcomes and is keen to add value to the organisation’s culture and ethos 
Able to undertake some occasional work in the evenings and at weekends 
Able to travel in and outside of the UK if required
